Naps

Ok so we are having kind of a rough day. I am struggling getting my 3 year old down for a nap. She has not had good naps most of the week and it has been very obvious in the evening by her behaivor. I can tell that she still needs them and benefits from them, but she has been fighting me on them all week. Anybody have any thoughts or ideas? I have tried everything, asking nicely, getting angry, taking away privilages, and putting a gate up, that she can now just take down. Ugh I am just at my wit's end today! If she doesn't take one then she usually falls asleep sometime in the evening and then has a hard time going to bed! Agh! It is just a vicious cycle! Anyways I am sorry I just needed to vent!! Also I was thinking why is it kids don't like to take naps? When you get older people would love to be able to take naps, but can't because they have to much to do. I wish I could take a nap!! Sorry, Anyways!! Have a great weekend!

Hmmm... it may be that she's transitioning to a no nap system, huh? Sorry for you, dear! Have you tried telling her that she doesn't have to take a nap, but rest instead? I have a friend who makes her kids "rest" on their bed for at least an hour a day. They can choose one toy and/or two books. She says that most of the time, they fall asleep. Sometimes they just keep playing. What do you think? Who knows!?! I'm just going to enjoy Luke still napping while I can, huh?

Definitly enjoy it while you can! Especially with only 1 kid now!! The "Rest" is a good idea, She has a digital alarm clock in there and so sometimes I will tell her if you just lay here until you see the number 3:00 or something like that, You know I just got to thinking I could set the alarm but I don't want it to wake her up if she does fall asleep. I definitly think she still needs sleep because if she doens't get a nap about 6:00 she will fall asleep and then be a basket case to get to bed! Our schedule has been crazy during harvest so I am hoping maybe after harvest we can get back into a good routine and we won't have the struggle! I can always hope anyway right!
